We are in the middle of another snowstorm. It rained for a couple of days and now the snow has returned. It looks pretty out with the huge flakes coming down but I'd rather be watching tuna flakes, personally.
No photos though as we have been having angry camera issues. Hopefully that will be resolved over the weekend. We do have an interesting shot from earlier in the month.
The family was out one afternoon in the newly fallen snow and came upon these tracks.
Very strange. The wee ones think it is from a huge claw! I can't imagine what type of beast would have mighty claws like that and I never really want to!!! The PM thinks it is a wing print from out friend, Mr. Pheasant.
That makes sense but I don't know how it would be like that in the middle of a wide open space without any other tracks. They don't fly very well so I can't picture how he'd make such a graceful print like that. Very strange. The PM then got worried that our friends the foxes may have got the pheasant and that was his wing hanging as they ran with him. They have been around here every couple of days and even chased him up one of the big pine trees! No fears though as he has been back to the feeders. The Music Man commented on how plump he is looking. His days may be numbered though with all the foxes and coyotes around. We hope he can make it through the Winter as he has a good hiding spot in our berm and he is oh so FUN to watch!!

That mark in the snow is truly mysterious. It's a beautiful picture for sure! Instead of snow we are having lots and lots of rain, which doesn't look pretty at all. Ugh. Rain, rain, go away!

It does look like a huge claw, doesn't it? There are always strange tracks when it snows, we find. #1 took one photo here of something that looked like a far railway track!
Those marks are a mystery. Perhaps they are just sunken snow...but they have a curve to them. Odd, truly odd. Have a great weekend and stay warm!!!

Yes very strange tracks, indeed! It's hard to tell how big or small they are in the picture, though. At first I thought maybe skis did it, but there's no other ones around.
Even if it was the pheasant, there still aren't any track marks of it walking away. This is spooky!
Oh, I can see why the coyotes and the foxes would love to snack on Mr. Pheasant! He does look yummy...I mean beautiful. ::twitch:: birdies....sigh

What a lovely photo. But we wonder what could have made that print.
That is a mystery. We get lots of those pheasants here. They come into our garden then when we chase them, they fly up on top of the hedge (ten feet up) and tease us by walking up and down above us.
THAT claw mark looks very scary. It makes me want to shiver in fear!

We had that snowstorm on Friday!! Mom said it was blowing very hard and was very cold !!!WE were glad we do not go out :) She will fight Mickey for the heating pad!! hahahaha

Those marks in da snow are definitely a puzzler, but we agree the snow looks quite pretty. You do have such a nice fat pheasant visiting your yard. We sometimes get those here as well. Our evergreen bushes in our yard are quickly being eaten by herds of deer. Their tracks are everywhere.

Interesting. We have a theory: That pheasant looks like it's gonna blow up any moment. Maybe the tracks were made by another exploding pheasant?
