Mancat Monday

Mancat Monday

We've had a busy weekend out here. The Music Man's parents came over for the weekend. They used to live closer and would come over for the day but they moved to a different province so now when they visit they have to stay for a couple of nights.

We normally enjoy visitors but the Music Man's Mom (MMM) really dislikes cats. Yes, you heard me right. It makes for a rather awkward situation.

When I want attention, I normally saunter over and when the person turns their head, there I am.

That usually leads to head scritches, pats and words of love. When I do that with the MMM, she gives a little screech and then shoos me, yes shoos me away like I am a mosquito or something.

In order to make our annoyance known, Banshee furrified the napkins

and she and I tried to melt the box of chocolates that the MMM brought (they are under the pink paper on the ottoman).

Shade put on her own display. After supper the PM and MMM were doing the dishes. Shade jumped onto the table and started sniffing the rest of the onion and cheese loaf that the PM had made for supper. The MMM was horrified and said "She didn't touch it did she?". The PM said she didn't think so but she's actually pretty sure there was a lick or two done.

The thing that hurt my mancat feelings the most was when I walked through the livingroom and the MMM said " Look at her. Remember how scruffy and disgusting she looked when she first came?"

What????????

The PM said "He came here when he was 6 months old and was a sweet little fella!"

The MMM just shrugged.

So any ideas on what I can have lined up for their next visit????

Don't worry Goldie. Our dad's sister said that I look "manky". I might be biased, but I think we are two very good looking kitties!

People who say they don't like cats are funny creatures. Our mum says anything they say should be taken with a grain of salt.

I think you need to visit Daisy's place today for her quote!!

Mom usually tells people if you don't like cats or dogs, don't bother cause we live here and it's our home. I know it's different with family...but sheesh!

Maybe next time you can sleep in her luggage and steal food from her plate.

Uh oh! My proverb today is very timely! I do not see how anybuddy could resist your sweet face. To know you is to love you!

We'll have to think on this because it is clear that GIANT measures will have to be taken. You are a very handsome mancat, Goldie, and how anyone could possibly resist your charms is beyond us.

My father did not like cats, but our cats always seemed to know that. I remember one cat, Jasmine, would dash across the back of the couch while he was sitting on it. He'd yell at her and get all blustery and red. We'd laugh be cause we knew she was teasing him.

Isn't it strange that some people just don't like cats? We have a neighbor like that. She came over to our house when we were very small (and VERY cute) kitten boys and she completely ignored us and told our Mom she is a DOG person! We suggest that you just be EXTRA friendly to the MMM and kill her with kindness. (It's just a phrase, it won't really kill her.)

How rude! You all should start building up some hairballs ready for her next arrival.

We know you should probably be really really nice to her next time she visits...maybe you could change her mind about cats...but really, we think you should just poop on her pillow!

I'll have to go with the pillow-poop idea. :)

We are torn between killing the MMM kindness and leaving little gifts for her. We just can't imagine humans not liking cats.

Yes, it's hard to put up with such ridiculousness, isn't it? I have some in-laws who don't like cats either, and Domino is always determined to sit on their laps, one after the other. I even have some pictures of it -- it's pretty funny actually.

Apparently, if someone doesn't look at a cat, that is where the cat wants to go because it is less threatening to them. However, your guests seem pretty threatening to me -- I don't blame Goldie and Banshee for wanting to annoy them! Good job kitties!

How is that possible? I hope you both get your licks in!!

I can't believe this! You're all so wonderful, and we all know cats are the best! Mama loves that top photo of you, Goldie.

Banshee, good for you for furifing the napkins. I can also see you both did your best at melting the chocolates. Anway, I saw some good ideas for revenge. I think a good hairball is in order too. Maybe in her suitcase?

Lucy

??? We can't understand this human. How could she not love you on sight??

Parker said...

Not. Like. Cats.? How is that even possible?
I don't know what I would do - but I know that it's her loss...

CatLadyDiary.com said...

Yeah, start building up some hairballs for the next visit!

Goldie, we just don't understand people like that! Especially someone who would say mean nasty untrue things about a handsome mancat like you as a kitten! Our first thought too was that a poop in the shoe is called for...but we think following her around and looking utterly adorable would really drive her nuts!
