Phew! Finally we get to blog again! Blogger was not cooperating with us this weekend, it wouldn't upload any photos and we had a hard time leaving comments. It seems OK now. Goldie is mad as he feels he should be able to post today as he missed out ALL weekend but TOO BAD, it is Tuxie Tuesday.

Before this blogging business, I never really paid attention to how I look in photos. Well, I have been studying them recently and will post my findings and tips periodically.

Today is Tip #1.

When you are a slightly rotund cat, you need to be aware of your angles and find out what works best for you. The best idea is to stretch yourself as long as possible to give the illusion of thinness. This next shot is of me reclining on the PM during our relaxing time when the wee ones and Goldie are all in bed. Laying on something that is not flat is also good as you mould into the curves.

This next shot is a classic "taking a bath" shot and really should be avoided. I look like a ball and not in a cute way. Also I am propping my rump up with a pillow and a small toy spoon. This is also not very slimming. If you are going to lie on a uneven surface said surface has to be bigger than you. Finally, stay away from patterns as they bring too much attention to you. I should have been on the plain couch and not the crazy chair, with added plaid throw.

Hope this helps. Practice with a mirror if need be.

Being able to pose for photos should be learnt from a very early age, sadly one of my kittens doesn't seem to have a natural talent for this unlike me and the rest of my kittens! ;)

Those are great tips! I will have to start using those as Meowm seems to be getting a bit better at taking photos of me.

Thank you for your comments about the seals, and for not lambasting us about it. Meowm posted on a message board about this a couple of years ago and got ripped a new one. She didn't say what the "one" was, but I bet it wasn't fun.

Wow, that is some most excellent advice! I can use that advice because, even though I only weigh 6 pounds, I have a big round tummy. Sometimes I look like a penguin with my roll of belly fat.

Hi! Posing for photos is hard. These are very good tips. My grooming photos always make my look so wide. sigh. Why mommy takes them I'll never know.
Mommy didn't see the "fox/Coyote" this weekend because of the weather, but after looking at a photo of a Coyote, we think you're right. He is quite a bit bigger than the fox.
Mommy won't tell anyone but daddy she saw it because people around here act so stoopid when they hear a coyote was spotted. I stay inside and our neighbors don't even have woofies so no worries.

We weren't taking your comments wrong, we were just thanking you for not lambasting us.

Well, Gandalf does have a bit of extra tummy, bit not too much. And Grayson is just a ball of floofy furs. Mom says we look good from all angles, but we will keep these tips in mind for our next photo shoot, just to be safe!

We think your rotund rump is very cute, Shade!

You have given some very good advice, I am going to pass it onto my Mommie. See, Daddy and I stay very trim with exercise. Mommie does not use her gym membership enough!

What wonderful tips! You look furry slim in the first piktur - guess stretching really does help - we like to stretch too - it makes us look longer and bigger and keeps our bean intimidated!
Lovely tuxie tuesday pikturs :)

Tuxies look best sitting up as straight as possible, to show off their bibs and booties if they have them.

Once they lie down, they tend to look like Shamu, the killer whale. He's famous you know, and gets lots of fish treats, so if you can get people to think "Shamu" then maybe they will also think "Fish treats" and go get some greenie for you.

It is worth a shot.

By the way, I admire your thick tail. It looks powerful.
