Ledge Worship

Ledge Worship

One kitty.

Two kitties.

Three in the sun.

We are lovin' the fact that the PM cleaned this all off for us. She says it's not all going to be ours but for now we are enjoying it. I thought I would explain why we have two feet wide window ledges. Our house is a cordwood house. The main floor is built with short logs and cement for walls. They say it holds in the heat in the winter and keeps us cool all summer. I just know I love having all the space to sunbathe. Also we are excited that we are now getting sun in here to lay in. Our house is also passive solar which means it is built facing south and the roof is angled a certain way to let all the sun in during the cold months. In the summer, no sun at all comes in these window, keeping the house cool.

OK back to my nap.

How beautiful you all are lying in the sunshine. Your window ledges are so sensible, as is your house layout. I'm having to fight for my futon in the sun today, Oliver and Gerry have staked their claim before me!

Happy sunbathing

We wish we had such lovely big window ledges. They are just right for soaking up the sun, and look at all three of you together! It looks cold outside though!

We are so happy to see you three are getting along so well. It looks like Banshee is really fitting in:)
What great window ledges you have. We have skinny little ones. When Fui manages to get up on them, his guts hang down under the ledge! Hahahahaha!
The snow looks very pretty outside.

All window ledges should be that wide, so a kitty can really stretch out. You are so lucky to each get your own window. It looks Banshee is really fitting in.

I agree with Laila and Minchie. That is such a cool place for kitties to hang out!

You have an awesome house. Our window ledges are so narrow...Ginger would be able to fit on your ledge easily...but she's too wide for ours! Ha! Enjoy your naps in the sun!

Hi Goldie. What a lovely picture of all three of you basking in the sun. The windowsills here are very narrow, so Meowmy has put cat perches under most of them for us, but it's not the same. Thanks for telling us about how your house is built too...we love the idea of using what would be discards instead of great big whole tree logs.

Oh my, that is a wonderful spot! Our home also gets more sun in the winter time, and we, too, take full advantage of it! We think kitty #1 has the cutest eyes.

Pawsome ledge! Pawsome house! And pawsome kitties! A good sunbeam brings cats together, eh? It makes me really smiling to see the three of you up there together. Although I notice, Goldie, that you still have the role of the mediator...

It sounds like your humans have the temperature thing totally under control! BTW, please remind your beans that my book, The World is Your Litter Box, makes a great holiday gift! It is only 9.95 green papers, and is available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com.

We're suffering from "ledge envy". We have to make do with the backs of chairs and kitty perches.

That house sounds like it was built for cats! What a nice place to sunbathe and soak up all that luscious warmth! Enjoy it while you can!

We think we would also love a Cordwood house! We followed the link and it seems to be truly "Green" as well as quite efficient! We would be only that ledge All.The.Time.

Very nice! That house seems wonderful! We had to make our staff put wood boards on the windowsills here to make them wider - it took us a while but they finally got it, hahahahaha! And what a beautiful view you have! And what's that white stuff out there?????
