Glad to be Home

Glad to be Home

I have to say the city had some exciting moments. Watching dawgs walking right in front of the house and snooping around in a new place but I was very happy when we finally arrived back to our home in the woods.

The PM took me out on my lead to check things out.

YUM! Some catmint, my fav.

I checked out some of the plants in bloom.

I didn't get too close to this fella!

When the evening had cooled off I headed upstairs to check out the great things we had received from Sei-Chan, Tama-Chan and Tom.

I was just getting into the thick of things when I kept getting rudely interupted.

This was one thing I hated about being in the city. Every once in awhile these trucks and cars would come zooming by screaming with flashing lights. Very hard on a cat's nerves. The PM explained to me that they were safety vehicles that went to help people who were in trouble or hurt.

I think if I was hurt and then saw these loud flashing beasts speeding towards me, I'd go from bad to worse pretty quick. I think what they need are quiet soft flying contraptions that could fly fast but were very gentle and soothing when they picked you up. Not these nerve jangling metal monsters. These would also supply ham on demand.

We are finally back! There was great debate whether to simply get a new keyboard or buy a new Mac. What is on the wish list is pretty pricey so a keyboard it is until this one truly dies. Then we had trouble with the new one but it seems OK now.

Anyway, back to the important things in life... us!

I wanted to share with you a very cool thing that the PM did while she was away on the Island. Not only did the PM meet lots of critters, she also met up with some fellow cat bloggers.

She spent the afternoon at #1 from The Poupounette's cottage where she also met Ms. C from Tabby Normal

It was a wonderful time of chatting, stories, food and wine! They hope to do it again next year. I think us felines should be invited next time.

The PM received this great gift from Ms. C.

I was annoyed that I could not actually eat that shiny fish. The PM then pulled out a gift bag. More people stuff that I can't touch or eat??

She then read the tag.

Yippee!!! A gift from our friends!! How exciting!! Goldie and Shade were too hot and were in the basement so I got to open it!

Smells delightful!

Fev-vers!!!!!!

More fun toys.

Treats too!

Excuse me while I give this a good goin' over!!!!

annoyed

Our computer is broken. no keyboard. The PM is cut and pasteing this from Our blog. it is eight years old . She hopes it will be just getting a new keyboard.

Crap!!!

The ever witty Fin has decided that this should be Tweet Week, celebrating everything feathery.

We thought we had nothing to share then something very tweetly happened. We interrupt our summer round up posts for a couple of birdie specials.

As some of you may remember, our chimney and woodstove are a very popular Fall vacation destination for our winged friends. The first guest of the season arrived unannounced. How rude!

Banshee, as usual, is the welcoming party.

I join in, wondering what all the fuss is about.

Of course we were not expecting any visitors and the hearth is a disaster and the stove is full of scrap paper awaiting the first fire to scare away the frost. I don't think this was the nest that the bird was expecting.

Our normal routine is the PM shuts all the blinds, blocks off the stairs and the kitchen then fixes the door wide open. She then opens the stove and the crazy bird flies out, through the livingroom, into the entry and out the door. Piece of cake.

Well, with new windows came new blinds. The PM opted for simple light filtering bamboo ones. Not the best choice when facing a bird evacuation.

The crazy bird went no where near the door and got itself trapped between the blinds and the window.

Finally the PM decided to open up a window and take out the screen. She and the wee ones then corralled the bird and it made it to the opening.

Too bad. I bet I could have showed it a real good time.
